one sweet minute: heather

hello friends. from time to time i meet some lovely people through my little blog that if we were neighbours, we would be the greatest of friends. i just know it. i first "met" heather through her adorable vintage shop 3 ring circus. and we have been friends ever since.

heather and i are very much alike. we both have 3 children, enjoy styling shoots, thrifting adventures, love love LOVE vintage, mexican food, red hair, and oh so much more...

her super cute kiddos.. and her daughter miss p has more experience with vintage than some of the newer cats on the vintage block. seriously.

i was delighted that she would share a bit about herself here. oh, and expect some new things from this lovely lady which may or may not be womens vintage clothing *winks*

Tell us something about your self and what you do in life..

• I am a mom of three kiddos Dax is 10, Cash is 7 and Penelope will be four soon! When I am not treasure hunting for 3ringcircus I work part time as a hair stylist. I love baking, collecting blythe dolls, live music, the color yellow and family road trips.

Why do you do what you do? What inspires you?

I love finding a special vintage piece hidden between the old navy and target clothing at the thrift stores. When I find a piece I dream up stories about the clothing. Each piece has it’s own story to tell. That in itself inspires me.
Growing up my mom would shop at thrift stores and consignment shops. So at an early age I began “treasure hunting” with her. Now that I am a mom I am trying to teach my kids about buying used items and only things that we really need.

What does your average daily work / life balance look like? How much
time do you work, play and sleep?

Everyday is different. I like to make lists to keep me from getting to sidetracked. Pip goes to preschool 2 days a week and those are the days I get most of my shop work done. I am lucky that she likes to go “treasure hunting” with me. We normally hit thrift stores 2-3 days a week. After the kids are in bed I spend way to much time on the computer. {ask the mister}
As a family we like to spend time at the beach or do things outside. We ALWAYS eat dinner as a family so that we can connect and find out what is going on in each others lives.

At what point do you consider yourself successful?

Success is if you love what you do and other people are enjoying it. It doesn’t matter how many sales you have as long as you have customers that are happy! Happy customers will always be repeat customers. I think it has helped that my parents own a retail business that I ran for many many years. Running an online shop doesn’t allow you that personal relationship so I always try to respond quickly and keep in touch with customers. I love when a mom buys something from my shop and sends me a picture of their child!!! It makes me giddy knowing that someone is wearing the items I found especially for the shop and they are creating a new story.

thank you heather
