and a happy little sunday..

today was truly a lovely day as my kiddo was finally home from 6 weeks of sailing and floating around the pacific. needless to say, lots of hugs and smiley faces were waiting at the airport for his arrival and since he has been home, his 2 little sisters are just completely smitten with him and can not stop following him from room to room....
it was a miracle we were able to catch our ferry home with just seconds - literally - to spare as we arrived at the terminal at 10:24pm and the gates closing at 10:25pm for our ride home. once on board, we were able to grab a delicous meal late last night - on said ferry - because we were starving....

looking back, the week was full of happy little suprises... including this one: i received my cute little something in the mail from vintage paper parade and oh my goodness, these little fawn tags are the sweetest little tags i ever did see...

i have to admit though, i have been procrastinating big time with work. i have a ton of pretty little dresses to sew but have not wanted to even look at my sewing machine for the past few days. i guess i just needed this little break to do not much but sneak cuddles with the family, watch movies, and read....

one last thing i wanted to share was this super adorable 5 minute chocoalte mug cake i came across on this lovely blog. although i do not own a microwave and can not make it without making some itty bitty changes, i think it would taste just perfect...

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug (Microwave Safe)

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly before pouring in the milk and oil in. Keep mixing. Add the optional chocolate chips next (who makes that an option!) and vanilla extract, and mix again…

Put your mug in the micro wave and cook for three minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don’t be alarmed! Allow it to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
